Team & Roles
ScendCore uses a role-based permission system to control what each team member can see and do. Every user is assigned a role within each workspace they belong to.
Role Hierarchy
ScendCore has five roles, ordered from most to least privileged:
| Role | UI Label | Level | Who it is for |
|---|---|---|---|
owner | RevOps Admin | 4 | Full control — billing, team, templates, platform settings |
manager | Manager | 3 | Team control — create/manage agents, view all contacts, invite reps |
approver | SDR | 2 | Personal agent, sequences, and approval queue |
closer | AE | 1 | Personal pipeline — contacts, deals, conversations |
viewer | Viewer | 0 | Read-only access to all pages and data |
A higher-level role always includes all permissions of the roles below it. For example, a Manager can do everything an SDR can do, plus more.

Inviting Team Members
- Go to Settings > Team
- Click Invite Member
- Enter their email address
- Select a role
- Click Send Invite
The invited user receives an email with a link to join your workspace.
Who Can Invite Whom
A user can only invite others at or below their own permission level:
- Owners can invite anyone (including other owners)
- Managers can invite SDRs, AEs, and Viewers
- SDRs, AEs, and Viewers cannot invite anyone
Changing a Member’s Role
- Go to Settings > Team
- Find the team member
- Select a new role from the dropdown
- The change takes effect immediately
Constraints
- You cannot change your own role
- You can only assign roles at or below your own level (Managers cannot promote someone to Owner)
- A user can never grant a permission they do not hold themselves
Removing Team Members
- Go to Settings > Team
- Find the team member
- Click Remove
- Confirm the removal
Removing a member revokes their access to the workspace immediately. Their data (contacts, conversations, etc.) is preserved.
Multi-Workspace Roles
A user can belong to multiple ScendCore workspaces with different roles in each. For example, you might be an Owner in your own company’s workspace and a Viewer in a partner’s workspace.
Platform Administrators
Separately from workspace roles, ScendCore platform administrators (identified by email domain or a configured admin list) have special cross-tenant access for support purposes. Platform admin access is logged and is not a workspace role — it does not affect the permissions described above.
Best Practices
- Start with least privilege — Assign Viewer or AE roles to new team members, then promote as needed
- Limit Owner access — Only people who need billing and full team management should be Owners
- Use Manager for team leads — Managers can handle day-to-day agent management without accessing billing
- Audit regularly — Review the team page periodically and remove members who no longer need access
